Music as Mysticism
Certain sound vibrations, tones, scales, rhythms, and harmonies can attune us to the spirit and open new pathways for prayer, praise, and meditation. In this workshop we will explore how sacred syllables, meditational chanting, Pythagoras’ theories on sacred sound, and the power of your own voice can lead you and your worshipping community into deeper spiritual contact. This combination of ancient practices and modern discoveries will give you a time-honored path to travel deeper into your soul, and connect more authentically as a worshipping community.
Body and Soul Inseparable: Building Community Through Movement and Song
We live our daily lives in our bodies, and yet we pray with only our head and hands. This workshop will open you to the spiritual potential of your entire body through a variety of postures, body prayer, sacred circle dancing, and improvised movement. I will show you how to move gradually from small gestures to full body expressions so that you and your congregation can experience the power of moving together as one, deepening their inner connection to Spirit and increasing their sense of community.
Co-Creating Earth Conscious, Spirit led, Blessing Based Worship Using the Four Paths of Creation Centered Spirituality
In this vast and fecund universe, life at its essence is good, and God is constantly calling us to be co-creators of our future. The Four Path Creation-Centered Spirituality of the 21st century visionary, Matthew Fox and the 14th century mystic, Meister Eckhart will provide the framework to integrate the creative dynamics of the universe with core Christianity. In this workshop, you will immerse yourself into Creation-Centered Spirituality through meditation, chant, dance, drumming and playful interaction. My multi-sensory material will help you expand your traditional worship, develop a new worship offering, or create creation centered celebrations for your eco-centric community.
Discerning, Descending, Revising and Rising: The Path of the Spiritual Creative
This workshop is for people who want to become more intentional about connecting their creativity to their spirituality. The Four Paths of Creation-Centered Spirituality as articulated by Rev. Dr. Matthew Fox and Meister Eckhart and the universal patterns of divine creativity will be the frameworks we use to develop a more conscious participation in the co-creativity of the universe. Enlightened co-creativity will become your source for a deeper spiritual connection for you and the people you seek to inspire through your work. Musicians, poets, dancers, artists, creative thinkers, and creative administrators are all welcome to attend.
